Writing a novel is a daunting task, but there are ways to make it a little easier. Many try to simply start with a blank page and write the book. That path leads to discouragement, ten drafts, and eventually a search for other work—unless you're another Stephen King. I knew I needed help but couldn't find anything that gave me what I wanted—something short, to the point, with reminders of what I already knew about what a novel is made up of, how it's constructed, etc. So, I created my own. I now use this format, and it has helped me define my concept, plot line, major scenes, characters and all the rest. It's helped me make progress with a novel that gave me fits for months. Before, I didn’t have a concise way to nail down my essential story components; now, I do. This very simple workbook has helped me do it. You know, sometimes, you just have to build your own tools. Bonus: On the last page is an email address where you can get a FREE PDF with fillable computer form blanks to use over and over again.
