Book Description Trade Paperback. Condition: Used - Very Good. Joseph Bertiers is a 33 year old artist from Nairobi, Kenya who began his career in his teens painting signs for local bars, butcher shops, and beauty parlors. Showing his inventiveness even in this early commercial painting phase, Bertiers nevertheless felt frustrated by the limitations of this work, and began a series of paintings for his own pleasure. In the early 80'S, an American art dealer saw Bertiers' work, and became his patron. Though he has never been outside Kenya, Bertiers takes inspiration for much of his work from current events, and portrays world leaders and celebrities in panoramic and detailed satires. Mild shelf wear. Overall great shape. Neat and clean. Crisp pages and a tight binding. Seller Inventory # 58533
