First Shapes in Buildings - Hardcover

This innovative shapes book features 12 structures from around the world. Each double-page spread is devoted to one shape, and both two- and three-dimensional shapes (e.g. circle, square, rectangle, cube, pyramid, and cylinder), are included. Each shape is illustrated in its simple geometric form on one side of the spread, while opposite is a full-color photograph of a structure that incorporates that shape. Simple text on each spread explains an aspect of the structure and invites children to imagine what it might be like to be in it or what the people who built it felt about it.
