About the Author:
Ronald J. Burke is Professor of Organizational Behavior at York University, Toronto. He was the founding editor of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences and serves on the editorial boards of dozens of other journals. He has consulted with organizational clients on management development, advancing managerial women, and restructuring and down sizing. He has also acted as a consultant on organizational effectiveness for both private and public sector organizations. Cary L. Cooper is Professor of Organizational Psychology and Health in Lancaster Business School at Lancaster University. He is author of over 100 books, has written over 400 scholarly articles for academic journals, and is a frequent contributor to national newspapers, television and radio. He is the co-editor of the 12-volume Blackwell Encyclopedia of Management. In 2001, he was awarded the CBE (Commander of the British Empire) by the Queen for his contribution to health and safety.
