From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-K-In this spin-off, "Conceived and developed by Harry N. Abrams, Incorporated, New York, Images adapted by Judith Gray, after characters created by Jean and Laurent de Brunhoff," one of the houses in Celesteville is going overboard with decorations. The new owners have put up fountains, blinking lights, an enormous sleigh with reindeer, zillions of colored feathers, a climbing tower-the works. King Babar receives a complaint from the neighboring rhino king and CUR (Committee for Ugliness Removal). The issue is resolved rather anticlimactically when the residents claim their house is "art." Readers looking for authentic Babar and/or memorable holiday books will want to pass on this one.-S. P.
