With this in mind, they set out down England's most storied rivers in this hilarious and classic tale. What was intended as a travel guide, complete with historical commentary and local colour, quickly became one of England's most celebrated comic novels. And that is to say nothing of the dog!

About the Author:

JEROME K JEROME (1859-1927) became an actor and his first books, ON STAGE AND OFF and THE IDLE THOUGHTS OF AN IDLE FELLOW, were about the theatre. Turning to writing as a profession, Jerome published his most famous novel, THREE MEN IN A BOAT in 1889, with a sequel, THREE MEN ON THE BUMMEL in 1900. He died in 1927.
